arvato return to CSL to upgrade handling systems

Arvato, the UK’s largest music distributor, sought Conveyor Systems Ltd (CSL) to upgrade their materials handling system at their Milton Keynes DC, following previous successful collaborations. The system begins with manual picking from live carton storage, where orders are placed on a packing table and packed into various boxes, labeled, and placed back onto a conveyor. The boxes are then weighed, strapped, and scanned before being sorted into lanes for manual palletizing or loaded onto vehicles using telescopic conveyors.

CSL also relocated the conveyor system to free up 340 sq.m of floor space and installed three metering belts for controlled box flow. Markus Schmuecker, Managing Director of arvato, praised CSL for providing a cost-effective, efficient solution that optimized space and met their operational needs.
