Case Study – NEW ‘Super Grip’ slat-spiral elevator/lowerator from CSL

Conveyor Systems Ltd debuted the ‘Super Grip’ slat-spiral elevator/lowerator at the IMHX 2013 exhibition. This compact, space-saving spiral conveyor offers smooth, continuous product flow between different floor levels, providing an efficient alternative to inclined belt conveyors and elevators where space is limited.

The innovative Super Grip belt, featuring friction pads that cover over 60% of the surface, ensures reliable transport even on steep inclines. This design reduces belt length, contributing to cost savings. The spiral conveyor’s small footprint saves floor space, and its energy-efficient operation requires only one drive per 7m.

Available in mild steel or hygienic stainless steel, CSL’s spiral elevators are versatile, easy to operate, and capable of transporting a wide range of products. They are ideal for off-line buffering, time delays, or balancing production throughput.

Catering for modern packaging and logistic systems

At IMHX 2013, Conveyor Systems Ltd introduced twin-lane reversible spirals, designed for modern packaging and logistics systems. These conveyors can operate in dual lanes, are independently controlled, and are capable of running in opposite directions at varying speeds, increasing handling capacity compared to conventional lift systems.

CSL’s spiral technology is also available in conveyor format, made from mild steel, aluminium, or stainless steel. These conveyors are energy-efficient, versatile, and easy to integrate, with a single motor driving long sections. Capable of handling up to 120 kg per meter, they transport products around curves, inclines, and straight sections, reducing the need for multiple transfers and drives. CSL provides technical support and full specification literature as needed.
