CSL lifts the spirits in bottling hall
A leading premium alcoholic drinks manufacturer selected Conveyor Systems Ltd (CSL) to design a solution for transporting flat-packed whisky cartons from a lower-floor storage area to the bottling hall. The challenge was limited space between floors due to close-pitch beams and a crowded bottling hall.
CSL chose the Qimarox Prorunner Mk1 vertical elevator for its compact design and low-maintenance, quiet operation. The elevator featured a motorized roller conveyor platform for seamless infeed and outfeed. Zero-line pressure (ZLP) accumulation conveyors singulated cases for smooth transfer onto the elevator platform.
Once at the upper floor, cases were unloaded onto another ZLP conveyor, delivering them to an operator for carton loading. The outfeed conveyor included a build-back sensor to prevent overflow. Each bottling line had its own independent conveyor panel with touch-screen HMI for diagnostics.
CSL provided a complete turnkey solution, including design, installation, and commissioning. The Bottling Hall Projects Manager commented, “CSL’s expertise and service have been consistently excellent, and the new system has significantly increased productivity to meet growing demand.”
