CSL Unveils High-Speed Packing and Sortation System

Conveyor Systems Ltd (CSL) recently completed the installation of a high-speed packing and sortation system for a leading E-commerce retailer in North-West England. The system processes a wide range of products at a rate of 7,500 items per hour across 120 operators working 24-hour shifts.

To address previous delays and damage caused by manual labour, CSL designed a system with eight packing lanes, 15 packing benches, and a main transit line with multi-speed metering belts. Products were scanned through a SICK scanner array and sorted via a high-speed vertical cross-belt sorter with 44 chutes. The system included real-time monitoring and control via SCADA interfaces, allowing operators to manage the process remotely.
