Wm Morrison Supermarkets plc partnered with Conveyor Systems Ltd (CSL) to improve operational efficiency at their Midlands packing hub, specifically for assembling hand-tied flower bouquets.
CSL designed a system with three 25m long, heavy-duty, waterproof modular slat conveyors, each with variable speed drives to match packing volumes. The system ensures delicate handling of flowers by smoothly transferring bouquets onto a central conveyor, preventing damage.
At the end of the process, the bouquets are placed in pre-erected cases, securely strapped, and ready for distribution. The new system has increased efficiency, throughput, and helped maintain the quality and freshness of the bouquets delivered to stores nationwide.
