Jai Kudo chose Conveyor Systems to inspire order picking efficiency
Jai Kudo, a leading manufacturer of contemporary eyewear and one of the UK’s largest stockists of ophthalmic lenses, sought a solution to improve the efficiency of order picking for optical lenses. They approached Conveyor Systems Ltd (CSL) to design a bespoke conveyor system that would streamline the flow of products from vertical pick-to-light storage units to packing stations.
CSL provided a cost-effective modular conveyor circuit, with lenses picked from storage and placed in special tote carriers. These carriers are transported on powered roller conveyors with low-pressure accumulation, ensuring smooth handling of fragile products. The totes are halted at blade stops for packing, and gravity conveyors return the empty carriers to the picking area.
A Jai Kudo spokesperson praised CSL for delivering a simple, effective solution that improved order picking and packaging efficiency, helping maintain high standards of accuracy and customer service in dispatch.
