Unique ‘stacked’ Spiral Conveyor System for Major Fashion Retailer’s Distribution Centre

Conveyor Systems Limited (CSL) designed and installed a cost-effective material handling solution for a major fashion e-commerce retailer with over 180 stores. The system, featuring a multi-tier conveyor and three-stacked spiral lift, enhances stock handling and addresses health and safety concerns. It transports totes across four floors, achieving a throughput of 500 totes per hour.

The automated system replaced a manual lift, increasing efficiency and reliability while eliminating errors. The Senior Operations Manager praised the system’s speed, reliability, and capacity, with totes reaching the top floor in just 2.5 minutes.

Jim Farquhar, CSL’s Sales Director, emphasized the importance of understanding the retailer’s needs, maintaining effective communication, and adapting designs as the project progressed. After six months of successful operation, the retailer confirmed an ongoing maintenance contract with CSL.
